Playing
Is it free?
Yes. You can play every tier, unlock boards, and climb the ranks without paying. Purchases are optional and buy Coins or Gems, never an advantage in the dice.
Am I playing a person or a computer?
Both happen. Matchmaking looks for a human first and pairs you with an AI opponent when nobody is free at your tier, so a game always starts.Fair Play explains how the AI works.
How hard is the AI?
There are five difficulty tiers, from a gentle opponent for a first game up to one that punishes loose checkers. Higher tiers also play for higher stakes in Coins.
Can I play offline?
Matches against other players need a connection, because the dice come from our servers. A local match against the AI keeps working when the signal drops; your rewards and stats sync once you are back online.
What happens if I disconnect mid-match?
The match lives on the server, not on your phone, so a dropped signal does not wipe the board. Stay away too long and the match is forfeited to your opponent — see Community Rules.
Why can I not make that move?
Because it is not legal for that roll. The board highlights every move you are allowed to make, including the rule that forces you to use both dice when possible. The rules page covers the awkward cases: the bar, blocked entry, and bearing off with a high die.
Coins, Gems, and the shop
What is the difference between Coins and Gems?
Coins are the everyday currency you win and stake in matches. Gems are the rarer one, used for premium unlocks. Both are virtual: Coins and Gems are virtual currency with no cash value. Gammon Rivals is not a gambling app: no real-money stakes, no prizes, no cash-out.
I ran out of Coins. Now what?
Wait for the hourly bonus, spin the wheel, or finish your daily missions. Coins come back for free; you never have to buy them.
I paid and nothing arrived.
Send us the store receipt and we will fix the balance. Refunds go through the App Store or Google Play, since that is who took the payment.Support has the details to include.
Can I cash out my Coins?
No. Coins and Gems have no cash value and cannot be sold, cashed out, or traded outside the app. See Responsible Play.
Your account
Do I need an account?
You can start playing straight away. Signing in links your progress to you, so a new phone does not mean a fresh start.
Will I lose my progress if I change phone?
Not if you have signed in. A guest account lives on the device only — sign in before you switch phones.
Can I change my display name?
Yes, from your profile. Names are public to opponents, soCommunity Rules apply to them.
How do I delete my account?
Follow Delete Your Account. Deletion is permanent and removes your profile, balances, and match history.
Which data do you hold?
The account, the profile, the balances, and the matches — the detail is in the Privacy Policy. We never see your card: payments stay with the app stores.
